  • 27/03/2023 to 29/03/2023: Veterinarian treating the injured dog lodges a police report against the abuser.
  • Teen's grandparents came forward to seek forgiveness from public. Teen's mother went to the veterinary clinic requesting the vet to retract their police report, stating that hurting the dog was a trivial matter and the dog will bite others if left outside.
  • 03/04/2023: Teen posts a 45-second video apoligizing for his actions.
  • 12/04/2023: Teen pleads guilty to animal abuse at Sessions Court. Teen's representative requests that sentencing be postponed as lawyer is not present.
  • 18/04/2023: Teen sentenced to 7 light strokes of public caning, released on good behaviour bond for 1 year with surety of RM10,000.
  • 21/05/2023: Teen eludes public caning as High Court overturns sentence. Teen's lawyer shared that the abuser's hand was fractured when abusing the dog and caning would cause further harm. Teen remains on good behaviour bond.
